A Report, and Trivial Setting Backstory
It has been a long time since something had been written. Ruoh here.
To be frank, I’m unclear where we are with the current progress of things.
That is to say, since the software used to develop Morenatsu is apparently under maintenance
(or is the program itself changing?), nobody on staff is able to access it either.
The data has been backed up so things should be fine there, we are unable to share
any information at this time.
Yukidaruma-san is currently trying to restore it, but this may take some time.
Being kept in the dark may be distressing, but I would be happy if you
could wait worry-free.
Having only just a report to read might seem a tad bothersome, so I decided I’d give you a bit of
minor inside stories about the characters I was in charge of.
*Kounosuke’s Japanese Language Results
Kounosuke’s test grades are normally bad, and this isn’t due to a mistaken memory on the protagonist’s part.
It’s just that he never understood he had to answer “what are the author’s feelings?” type questions with the
"correct answer," but he’s actually rather good at composition writing.
And it’s because he’s good at writing that there was a public submission in his story. It would have been great
if I could have incorporated it into the story, but this is a particular weakness of mine.
*The Secret Story of Nana-kun’s Birth
At first I thought of a “I have a real ghost photo! How about that!” slapstick gag, but then
I started thinking “what if the ghost itself came to give it back?” And so his character was created.
That was how it was supposed to be, but somehow details got added on until we have what we have today.
Maybe some switch flipped on, or maybe the gears spun up all these ideas.
All of these details coming down compiled together to form Nanafuse.
By the way, I originally picked the kanji 伏 since one meaning of it can mean hidden, as in secrets.
But then Hyugakuo-san said “I thought of a double meaning where a human (人) and a dog (犬) ((actually a wolf))
are his parents,” and I said “I didn’t think that far!”
*Shin-kun and Amaki-san
Since the story of the coupling was put in the borders of the second production it might not have been
very good, but I personally wondered if it was possible for these two to pair up.
After all Amaki-san treasures Shin-kun as his caretaker, but at the same time attends to him
with a deep affection outside of that of an object of romantic interests.
Shin-kun for his part also thinks “he’s important to me, but I can’t see him that way.”
Still, I thought, ‘couldn’t these feelings turn to affection?’
Shin-kun would “stay silent,”
Amaki-san would “handle things gracefully,”
so any expression would never happen, but honestly these two are just so bad at showing their real feelings.
So despite being similar they don’t hang all that closely.
That’s the kind of relationship I see.
*Doesn’t Shin-kun’s Scenario Have More Oomph in it Compared to Kounosuke’s?
Well, this is extremely hard to answer, but of course that isn’t the case.
It isn’t, but Shin-kun’s scenario was completely packed with certain spiteful thoughts like
"Was the branching too easy? Then I’ll make it complex!" "The bad end doesn’t seem that bad?
Then how about I make it even worse?” Those were the kinds of feedback I got from before and
kept in mind while writing, so perhaps that was how things were seen as they were.
If I had to say what part I made a mistake in not considering what would make a good story,
well Kounosuke’s would be like a painful birthing delivery…
This isn’t a direct connection between a writer and his writings. It’s hard.
Things were less talking about extra tidbits and more personal grumblings towards the end there.
Well then, I shall excuse myself here.
Thanks to Rou for the Translation. Least we Kiiinda know why it’s been so long?
The patch3.xp3 file is not in the mediafire download and I cannot access Shin or Juuichi. Is there something I'm missing?
Looks like Wintergreen renamed it. The patch.xp3 in there is the english stuff, just rename it to the highest number and that should open everything up.
If not, then send a picture of your patch setup (With filesizes please), and we’ll figure this out.
Ugh. I hate it when I hit “post” instead of “answer privately”
Since the question popped up a minute ago, I’ll answer it here as a reminder for you all.
Morenatsu is set to run in the japanese locale on your computer. Which basicly means if your computer is from anywhere but japan, then that sucks, cuz the game won’t work. and you’ll just get a blue screen when it starts Don’t worry though! There are two solutions:
1) Set you computers locale to Japanese
Open Region and Language by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Region and Language.
Click the Administrative tab, and then, under Language for non-Unicode programs, click Change system locale. If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Select the language, and then click OK.
To restart your computer, click Restart now.
Note though that this may mess up some other programs on your computer. Although I’ve been doing this without problems for a couple years now.
2) Open Morenatsu using a program called “Applocale”. If I remember, all you need to do is click Browse to pick the Morenatsu.exe, and then when it detects the language, press enter. This method is more annoying but it’s probably the safer solution.
jadecore said: If you have AppLocale, I believe you just need to right-click the exe file and pick to run as Japanese. You don’t have to go in via the program.
I also believe you can create a shortcut to run Morenatsu with Applocale via a shortcut, but I’ve never gotten these features to work. Hopefully you have more luck than I did.
And bam. Time to have sex with humanoid hasubandos. Have fun!
Ps: I do not know how to play the game on a Mac. I believe it’s possible but I have no experience with it
*I* was planning on doing this! Thats why I made the icon ! >:(
Morenatsu Dev Blog: Dec 31, 2013
Hello, it’s been about half a year since the last blog update.
There’s been some speculation that the project has halted,
but actually we are continuing along quite well.
This is a report to say that we’re still alive, and to apologize for any concern caused.
On the production side of things, the main members have unfortunately
been busy at work so they have not made much progress.
With three scenarios left to do, we deeply apologize for the people
who have always been waiting. Progress has been going at a snail’s pace,
but we plan on going bit by bit, so we would be happy if you continue to watch for the long term.
It’s a brief post, but this is the current state of things.
See you in 2014.
You heard it here first, folks, The Morenatsu project is still going.
Thanks to Rou for the post’s translation.
hello! i was wondering what the full progress is on the game?
I’m not sure at this point, It’s been a looong time since the last blog post from the dev team.
Rest assured though I AM still paying attention, I’ll let you guys know when something pops up.
Made by yours truly. (Me)
Fuck the gloves
I know I said I was going to bed but I had the sudden urge to draw Juuichi cosplaying as Winnie the Pooh.
So here’s a really fast version I ‘d be willing to share.
The Juuichi English patch is now complete! Click here to download! (Patch3.xp3).
It was actually posted a few hours ago, but I was out at a barbecue at my sisters new place. Sorry about that.
As always, delete the older english patch and replace it with this one. Make sure all patched are numbered correctly (patch.xp3, followed by patch2, patch3, ect) and make sure that this one has the highest number.
I’m going to bed in a minute, but I’ll answer any questions you may have tonight. For now, I’m going to bed.
Juuichi’s route 100% translated!
The translation for Juuichi’s route is FINALLY complete. At this point, all we need to do is wait for the patching team to finish programming it.
Unofficial estimation: Tonight. Worst case: In a week. I will let you know as soon as I notice it’s up!
